u got MSG?

I'm no Lord Byron, but I shall attempt to write properly.

Friday arvo (Aust. afternoon) our rundown team had a fit with the system - the online application package spat out a series of error messages. Bloody hell!

Naturally, this infuriated the boss, one who is not unusually pretty chill with any digital misdemenours. Not this time. She just can't take it no more. Hpppfhhh ... !!!

She reported via email what the problem was to the contact person (outside our organisation) - a whiz dude by the delightful name of Bhupal - and expected no less than an immediate rectification.

So Bhupal the Hindi funk music lover responded shortly. In this his plain looking email:

...  u got a msg? what does it say ...

"Bang! And she goes, bang bang!" - Uma Thurman polishing her samurai sword.

And that was it. It was the last straw.

Boss rang Bhupal, What are you trying to tell me Bhupal, I may be old and not into the latest technology, but I couldn't understand what you said at all; for all I know, MSG is the thing you put in your cooking and makes you sick.

Voilà, man of technology Bhupal tried to get away with his penchant for SMS lingo. Barely.

I haven't, don't, and never will use SMS abbreviation in my work correspondence. Come on, it's common sense, with mates you could scribble with whatever jargon, lingo, jingo stuck in your ugly head, but dealing with clients, emailing your boss, a big no no.

I'm not that stupid.  Are ya?
Yea come on, spill the beans   ... you know you want to!
